Kudos to the Rays PR staff for marking the significance of this afternoon’s matchup between Matt Garza and Dallas Braden with some outstanding historical research.

Today will mark just the second time in the last 20 years that two pitchers will face each other after throwing no-hitters earlier in the season.  The other came this season when Edwin Jackson faced Roy Halladay.

Let me just start the day with this message to Dallas: no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter no-hitter
