Back out front thanks to two more big swings from Dan Johnson. The last four times he has left the yard (dating back to September 2008) the Rays have made a big step towards big accomplishments.
So how do we not have a nickname for this guy already?
I don’t recognize nicknames like DJ or DanJo. That is lazy.
Earnest Graham already owns Mr. August and I think someone else staked a claim to Mr. October. That makes “Mr. September” seem too obvious.
So I leave it open. Someone send me a Dan Johnson nickname already. This is getting ridiculous.

As for Johnson, he already has a nickname among Rays Nation. The man rises up from the ground every fall to smite his enemies. And he’s a Ginger.

Dan freaking Johnson is his name in NEW YORK AND BAUSTON….LOL
How about…Dan “I only give myslef one swing per at bat becasue I take too many pitches” Johnson. He needs to become far more aggressive with 1 strike or will find himslef out of a job….major league pitchers can get him out when he’s forced to chase w/2 strikes(or look at strike 3 like he’s been doing a la Upton….becisue they both have such a great eye and the umps are always wrong).
