I saw a reader/commenter at Mad Dogs and Englishmen on New Years Eve and he complained that I haven’t posted in a while.

It’s not my fault.  I blame Andrew Friedman.  Seriously dude, do something already so I have some material.

There just isn’t a lot of news here in the chicken period of hot stove season.

I am not sure if Kevin Bacon is management or a player in this scene, but hopefully someone's shoe lace gets stuck soon.

Spring training is on the horizon but not close enough that teams or free agents are desperate.  Both sides are playing chicken in negotiations hoping the other side gets nervous first and either overpays or panics and accepts a more team-friendly deal.

These things will all work out this month and I will be around when one side blinks.  In the meantime, I am hoping to have a little site news sometime this week.

Either way, Happy New Year.

How about a discussion on the pros and cons of giving the kids regular time? Joyce, SeanJohn (diddyrod.. take your pick), Jennings, and Brignac need to be out there most days. Will they?
Or, does/would anyone else in the league value Ben Zobrist at $4.5 mil? At what point does his versatility become moot?

Thoughts on the rumored Garza trade to the cubbies? Any chance they’ll throw in Tyler Colvin??

Who knows until they announce the final details. More players are getting thrown in by the minute it seems. Last rumor is that Fernando Perez goes with Garza and we get Fuld from CHC.
