Joe Henderson
wrote a column yesterday outlining the decisions facing the Rays this offseason.
For reasons passing understanding, that column opens with a summary of the ALCS (for those of you scoring at home, the Rays are not participating in the ALCS). Then, Joe writes:
Since they’ll have to go through Cliff Lee even if they’re fortunate enough to get to Game 7, the odds remain stacked against Tampa’s “other” big-league baseball team.
Wait. What? Do they even employ editors at the Tampa Tribune anymore? How can a Tampa paper allow a Tampa writer to call a team that plays 81 home games in New York “Tampa’s ‘other’ big-league baseball team” in a column that is about…wait for it…Tampa Bay’s actual big-league team?
The rest of the column might be good. I really don’t know because I blacked out for a moment when I read that. Way to go Joe. Blow-It.com.

I read this column and was shocked as well. I didn’t find it to be a particularly well written piece, and I don’t understand how the Tribune would allow a shot like this against a team that is in the “fragile” position the Rays are in. They should be drumming up support for our own team and talking about the future with enthusiasm. Pathetic.
