Ugh.

I have written extensively in this space about the stupidity of the unbalanced schedule.  But, I’d be dishonest if I didn’t say that the unbalanced schedule has at least one positive side-effect: fewer west coast trips.

No, that's not me. But I do have that tea pot...

I hate when the club is out west for two reasons.  They play awful and I fall asleep on the couch.

I can’t handle these mid-week 10 p.m. starts.  The only thing I get out of a Rays west-coast swing is a crick in my neck.  Maybe it would be different if there was an American League team in the western time zone that was relevant.  But there isn’t.  So, I try to be a dutiful fan and watch.  I give the Rays credit with Nielsen because the TV stays on well into the post-game oxyclean infomercials at 2 a.m.   But I simply cannot keep my eyes open to watch.

So, I really don’t have an opinion on the club’s play against team hi-liter.  But, based on the line score I just saw, I don’t think I’d have a lot of good things to say had I stayed awake.

This phenomenon you might be explaining the Rays might have incurred is properly known as jet lag. But there is no reason the rays are losing series to sub .500 teams! are we for real?
