Attention New York, meet Carl Crawford courtesy of the New York Times.

For now, you will remember him as the All-Star leftfielder that will have you all paying close attention to Mark Sanchez and Eli Manning a few weeks earlier than last year.

Two great thoughts from this story:

1. CC is consistently the funniest quote in our clubhouse.  Sesame Street?  Classic.

“You never see yourself as one of those guys,” said the 29-year-old Crawford, relaxing in the Rays’ dugout at Fenway Park early last week. “I feel like I’m in ‘Sesame Street.’ You know, one of these things is not like the other? That’s how I feel.”

2. The New York Times wrote this like they just realized CC existed.  Weird.
