Republican Gubernatorial candidate Rick Scott was in Tampa today for a town hall meeting on something or another.

I only mention this because WUSF, the local NPR affiliate, just did a short report on the town hall meeting during which it asked Scott if he would support the use of state funds to build a ballpark for the Rays.

I can’t find any report of the town hall on the local newspaper websites so I am hesitant to quote Scott but, his answer was something similar to “we’ll have to look at what the return on an investment like that would be.  Some of those projects do get a positive return on investment.”

I know Scott’s current undertaking as a politician requires him to hedge on things but, even a lukewarm endorsement for a new state-funded park has to be sort of good news…right?
